362
Elbow
Yachting World Dayboat no 362, built of mahogany on oak frames by Benson of Caerleon in 1963. The dinghy has been extensively restored and refitted by owner over 18 months. Alas, due to advancing years and a bad back, the boat is too heavy for me to launch and retrieve on my own, so I must reluctantly sell.
The bow has been rebuilt using seasoned oak, and the centreplate area repaired and strengthened. The exterior has been stripped to the wood and the plank joints below the waterline raked and Sikaflexed. The hull was primed and refinished, white below and varnished topsides. The boat has been sailed this summer at Rutland. The hull needs some taking-up time in the water and some chasing of the remaining leaks to complete the job.
The boat comprises:
Mahogany on oak hull, repaired and repainted
Wooden mast and boom, refurbished
Road trailer recently refurbished, new winch and tyres
Suit of sails, old but serviceable, inc. main, jib, spinnaker and genoa (an additional almost new main and jib are available for an additional £250)
Rudder and tiller
Steel centreplate, re-galvanised
Bouyancy bags
Bottom boards
New oars and rowlocks
All standing and running rigging
Boat cover
The dinghy is now garaged in Nottingham, inspection welcome.
