I have just come across the DB web site, so please excuse this contact, but I sailed a Dayboat at Poole YC 1959 - 1962, and was then in Albacores at Parkstone in the '70s. I am so delighted to see names in the current results lists that I remember from then still sailing Dayboats - eg particularly Richard Cake, still at the front of the fleet. Could you "remember me" to him I wonder? And is that really Peter Drake from the Parkstone Merlins?! Plus a few what look like "next generation" names - Clayton, McGregor, Cake again. And Nigel Young! I have known him, and or his father, via the Albacores, almost since 1963. That is a really good article he contributed. A real nostalgia fest!
