Peter Hewitt who is liaising with Salcombe YC on behalf of the YWDB Assoc reports as below: -
“The last call we had from John Morrell was a bit of a bombshell. In a nutshell, the estuary is classed as an SSI with sea horses and rare molluscs so the Harbour Master cannot provide our usual trot. Neither John Morrell nor we had any inkling of this problem when we started talking in August. Other options to keep the boats afloat have been looked at, without success, so the only choice left to us is to “dry sail” from Batson.”

Peter told the Committee on 7th November that a minimum of 5 moorings would be made available. The Committee decided that any moorings made available should be allocated by ‘drawing from a hat’ i.e. on a completely random basis.
NB Only those competitors who have returned their entry form by 31st March 2010 will be eligible for the draw for the 5 moorings
